WHO I AM
A little about me.
Ellison Strategy is a communications, fundraising, and engagement consultancy run by Bri Ellison in Ontario, Canada. I follow Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
INFORMATION I COLLECT
What I collect, and when.
I only collect information you choose to give me, plus some basic data about how the site is used.
When you contact me or book a call: your name, email address, organization, and anything you include in your message.
When you download a resource or join a list: your name and email address.
When you visit the site: general usage data such as pages visited, browser type, device type, and approximate location. This is collected through cookies using HubSpot and Google Analytics. It doesn’t identify you by name.
HOW I USE IT
What I do with it.
I use your information to reply to your enquiry, schedule and prepare for calls, send resources you’ve asked for, and understand which parts of the site are useful. I don’t sell or rent your information, and I don’t use it for anything unrelated to why you shared it.
COMMUNICATION
About emails.
If you fill out a form, I’ll email you about that request. I’ll only add you to ongoing emails, like resources or updates, if you agree to it. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time.
SERVICE PROVIDERS
The tools behind the scenes.
I use a few trusted service providers to run the site and my business. They only handle your information to provide their service to me.
HubSpot stores form submissions and contact records, and tracks site usage.
Google schedules intro calls through Google Calendar and provides site analytics through Google Analytics.
Hostinger hosts the website.
I’ll only share your information beyond this if the law requires it.
DATA STORAGE
Where it lives.
Some of these providers store data outside Canada, including in the United States. Information stored there may be subject to that country’s laws.
COOKIES
A quick word on cookies.
Cookies are small files that help the site work and show me how it’s being used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work, though some features like forms may not.
RETENTION
How long I hold on to it.
I keep your information only as long as I need it for the purpose you shared it, or as long as needed for my business records. If we work together, I keep project and billing records as required for tax purposes.
YOUR DATA
Your rights.
You can ask to see the personal information I hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. You can also withdraw your consent to emails at any time. To make a request, email me and I’ll respond within 30 days.
UPDATES
If anything changes.
If I update this policy, I’ll change the date at the top of this page.
